Hair loss and herbs for treatment

Urtica dioica
There are many herbs that can be used to treat conditions of the prostate. Because of the proximity of this organ to the urinary tract, herbs that most benefit the prostate are also used to treat urinary conditions. However, not all urinary herbs are equal when it comes to treatment of prostateconditions. Often, that work best are those that also have some hormonal activity. Stinging nettle herb and rhizome (Urtica dioica) is an excellent prostate herb. The rhizome is a bit stronger, but the aerial parts of the leaf and flower are effective as well. In the case of the rhizome, the Cashmerian  variety, slender stinging nettle, is the most effective.

Not only does nettle help in combating hair loss and dandruff, it also helps in hair re-growth. Nettle leaves are rich in silica and sulphur. This helps in making hair shinier and healthier. Rinsing hair with nettle extracts and water results in re-growth of lost hair and also helps in restoring the original hair colour.

Availability of  Nettle leaves : 100,250 grams

Myrtle seeds for sale

Myrtle plant
Myrtus communis
Myrtus Myrtle
Family: Myrtaceae (Myrtle Family)

The leaves are aromatic, balsamic, haemostatic and tonic. Recent research has revealed a substance in the plant that has an antibiotic action. The active ingredients in myrtle are rapidly absorbed and give a violet-like scent to the urine within 15 minutes. The plant is taken internally in the treatment of urinary infections, digestive problems, vaginal discharge, bronchial congestion, sinusitis and dry coughs. In India it is considered to be useful in the treatment of cerebral affections, especially epilepsy. Externally, it is used in the treatment of acne (the essential oil is normally used here), wounds, gum infections and haemorrhoids. The leaves are picked as required and used fresh or dried.

Propagation of Myrtus communis : Pre-soak the seed for 24 hours in warm water and then sow it in late winter in a greenhouse. Prick out the seedlings into individual pots as soon as they are large enough to handle and grow them on in the greenhouse for at least their first winter. Plant them out into their permanent positions in late spring or early summer, after the last expected frosts. Cuttings of half-ripe wood, 7 - 10cm with a heel, July/August in a frame.
