JAPANESE MAPLE – Acer palmatum is
a small tree with a wide range of leaf shapes and colors that can be grown in
most climate zones. Retail nurseries often refer to Japanese maples as a
‘collector’s tree,’ as collectors are willing to pay high prices. As an
example, a local plant nursery that specializes in larger trees charges INR 3500 to 5000
for “specimen” Japanese maples. The Japanese maple is a good choice for a
